Smoked salmon-health benefits of this wonderful fish

Smoked salmon and fresh is a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids found in fatty fish such as mackerel others. Omega-3 is sadly lacking in a lot of Western diets, but we should try to include foods that contain and how it can help to lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels as decrease the risk of bleeding. Helps keep your heart healthy and protects against some types of cancer and also helps to stabilize our moods. It is an anti-depressant, but has some advantages for our mental health, as well as high-protein is no Omega-3 can also help reduce triglycerides, which are types of grease, in our blood that is good news for people with type II diabetes, as they usually have higher than normal in their blood.

Smoked salmon is also rich in vitamin E, which has anti-inflammatory properties and also has powerful antioxidant ones. This means that smoked salmon consumption can help fight free radicals which cause normal cells to become cancerous.

Salmon contains peptides that can help with the maintenance of healthy cartilage around joints (knees, ankles, etc) and can also provide support for effective use of insulin from the body and also help control and then decrease the inflammation in the digestive tract. One of these peptides is calcitonin which is produced by the thyroid gland and helps regulate and stabilize the collagen and mineral balance in our bones and tissues that surround and pillow. Researchers hope to be able to provide conclusive evidence that these bioactive peptides reduce inflammation that would be good news for those suffering from arthritis and rheumatism, and other inflammatory diseases.

Smoked and fresh salmon contains some of the b complex vitamins that are needed for the production of healthy blood and tissue, as well as for the function of the nerve. Also contains a trace element, selenium, who works with vitamin e to protect healthy cells of the body from toxins and their destructive effects. It also can inhibit growth and proliferation of cancer cells, although more research is needed to prove whether or not this is the case. Selenium is vital for the healthy functioning of the thyroid gland too and is in good quantity in fresh and smoked salmon.

One of the benefits of eating salmon is that all parasites and worms are killed in the process of smoking, so is sure to be consumed raw, as if it were. Another is that it is low in calories and rich as it can actually use too much of it in one sitting. Also contains a significant amount of minerals to copper, selenium and phosphorus and small amounts of calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and manganese. Unfortunately the smoked salmon contains high levels of sodium that contributes to the increased risk of heart disease and strokes as well as high blood pressure. This means that if you suffer from these diseases, not a good thing to include in your diet, at least in significant quantities. It is best avoided if you suffer from hypertension, chronic kidney disease or diabetes. One or two studies have suggested that the process of smoking causes unhealthy substances to form, but how you eat smoked salmon with moderation, are unlikely to get sick because of it.

However, if like me love the wealth of smoked salmon and you don't have any health problems mentioned above, might be a good idea to add smoked salmon occasionally to your diet.
