Harmful Effects of Tea and Coffee

A morning cup of tea or coffee with family or friends often wakes up the cells of human body. With a sip of beverage accompanied by snacks makes one feel refreshed to start the day. However, few people hardly know that this habit has become an addiction that can have long-lasting effects on human body.

The hot beverages are no less than real drugs like cocaine or marijuana. The only difference being narcotics damages the body faster than any other drug. Tea or coffee are said to contain chemicals that work as irritants. This irritation is the main reason behind stomach related troubles like gastritis, acidity and peptic ulcers.

The beverages contain two main chemicals; tannin and caffeine. Tannin causes irritation on the stomach lining. Very few know that tannin is the same chemical that is used in pelt houses for conversion of raw hide into fine leather. This chemical upsets the stomach giving rise to gastritis or acidity in short period. Consequently, this may lead to several peptic ulcers.

Caffeine is always believed to be a part of coffee but it is present even in tea. Caffeine has been often used in treating patients. It has medicinal effect on brains creating a better coordination between hands and eyes. However, increased use of chemical often decelerates the said effect on human body as the individual is able to sustain its stimulating impact. This makes caffeine useless in the hands of doctors.

The hot beverages have made many people their slaves. The general feeling is that if a person doesn't take any one of them, he will not be re-energized to do any type of job. He might feel exhausted and need a cup of it as soon as possible to continue with his work. This is just a warning.

After having tea or coffee, you feel relieved to continue with task. However, one must understand that use of caffeine has a detrimental effect with immediate use of reserved energy. In fact, it does not assist in replenishment of such reserved energy contents. The habitual use of hot beverages often causes hypertension leading to overstrain on heart. Also, it gives rise to strains on brain as headache becomes a common thing after regular cups.

Tea or coffee whether taken with milk or lemon or ice has harmful effects which need to be curbed as early as possible. Increased consumption can result in multiple health problems. It must be remembered that the habit can become an addiction making it impossible to survive without it.
